Precisely announced Precisely AI Studio on 6 October 2026: a curated collection of ready-made apps, agents and skills for building AI solutions on top of its data management products. It is available immediately with a 30-day free trial, and no pricing is published as of 12 October 2026. It is not a rival to Databricks or Snowflake in the platform sense. It is a template library, and whether that is enough depends on what you are buying it for.

What is Precisely AI Studio and who is it for?

Precisely AI Studio is a catalog of working examples that show how to build AI features on data that has been cleaned and enriched. In the company's words, it is "a curated collection of ready-made apps, agents, and skills that help builders to develop AI solutions" (Precisely press release, 6 October 2026).

Precisely says the target users are data teams, engineers and developers. The company says the assets work with AI tools including Claude, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT. The pitch is speed: the release says builders can "begin prototyping within minutes" instead of starting from scratch.

Who built Precisely AI Studio?

Precisely is an established data management vendor, not a startup. Its boilerplate says more than 12,000 organizations in over 100 countries, including 92% of the Fortune 500, rely on it (a company claim, per the press release).

Matt Waxman, Chief Product Officer at Precisely, is quoted in the launch: "Building a compelling AI demo is one thing. Building AI you can trust at scale is much harder." The release also quotes Jimmy Duchesne, Director, Solutions Innovation & Presales at partner Korem, who says time to value "used to be calculated in months. Now, it can be calculated in days." That is one partner's statement. The release names no customers.

What is inside Precisely AI Studio?

The product page sorts assets by industry and outcome into three types.

Asset typeWhat Precisely says it is
AppsPre-built applications that deliver a full industry outcome
AgentsTask-focused agents you can point at your own records and run
SkillsBuilding blocks you can download and drop into your own stack

Named examples are thin. The press release mentions a property analyzer app and a real estate intelligence agent, plus assets for geocoding addresses, launching governance workflows and configuring data replication pipelines. The product page names two apps that accept uploads, Data Graph Enrich and Data Quality Boost. Precisely has not published a full catalog listing.

Precisely says every asset is built on its proprietary datasets and embedded location intelligence. That is the real differentiator: the agents are wired to Precisely's data, such as address verification and geocoding, rather than being generic chat wrappers.

How does Precisely AI Studio work?

The product page describes three steps. You explore the collection with no account. You sign in and run assets against Precisely sample data and prompts. Then you download agents and skills and run them in your own environment through a Precisely-hosted MCP server.

Precisely says this avoids stack lock-in: "Precisely stays neutral across clouds, models, and your entire data estate." That is a vendor claim. Note that the assets still depend on Precisely capabilities and datasets, and Precisely says dataset availability and geographic coverage vary by capability.

How much does Precisely AI Studio cost?

No price list exists as of 12 October 2026. What Precisely publishes is trial terms.

Last checked: 12 October 2026. Compare that with Snowflake, where the pricing page lists AI Credits at $2.00 each with global routing and $2.20 with regional routing, with no per-seat fees. Databricks publishes Agent Bricks pricing on its pricing page. For Precisely, you will have to ask Sales.

What are the problems with Precisely AI Studio?

There are five.

  1. Opaque pricing. After the trial, you need a sales conversation to learn what production costs.
  2. No independent evidence yet. As of 12 October 2026, the evidence for AI Studio is Precisely's own announcement and product page. The Korem quote is a partner talking about a partner product.
  3. A platform still in preview. The Precisely Platform that the assets draw on "is in preview and will be generally available in early 2027," according to Precisely.
  4. Caution from the vendor itself. Precisely's page tells organizations to evaluate permissions, integrations, governance and business impact before connecting assets to production systems, and to start with test data. It also recommends not uploading sensitive or production data during the trial.
  5. Coverage varies. Location and business datasets differ by region and capability, so an agent that works for US addresses may not work elsewhere. Check the coverage details inside each asset.

Precisely AI Studio vs Databricks and Snowflake: which should you use?

They sit at different layers. Databricks and Snowflake sell the place where your data lives and where agents run. Precisely sells starting points that improve data and sit on top of it.

Databricks describes Agent Bricks as "the Databricks agent developer platform," covering hosting, sandboxed code execution, managed memory, tracing, governance and MCP servers (Databricks docs, updated 6 October 2026). Its pricing page also notes that Knowledge Assistant and Supervisor Agent are no longer available to new customers. Snowflake calls Cortex Agents "a fully managed agentic platform," with tools such as Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, code execution and MCP connectors.

Verdict by use case:

  • You run on Databricks or Snowflake and need address, location or data quality enrichment: try AI Studio as an add-on. It is not a replacement for either platform.
  • You need a general agent platform: Agent Bricks or Cortex Agents, depending on where your data already sits.
  • You are a Precisely customer prototyping: the trial lets you test without drawing on purchased allowances.

Is Precisely AI Studio worth trying?

For existing Precisely customers and teams that already pay for location or data quality tooling, yes. The trial is 30 days, requires no account to browse, and runs on sample data. For buyers choosing a data platform, no: this does not change that decision.

Is a bundle of templates enough to compete with Databricks and Snowflake? On the evidence so far, it is a different bet. Templates reduce the blank-page problem, which Precisely's release, citing McKinsey, links to nearly two-thirds of organizations still being in experiment or pilot mode. They do not replace storage, compute, governance and a runtime. The more interesting claim is the data underneath: the value of an agent that geocodes an address depends on the quality of the geocoder. That is Precisely's strength, and it is the part worth testing.

What's still unclear?

  • Price. No production pricing or trial allowance amounts are published.
  • Catalog size. Precisely says the collection "will continue to expand over time" but does not say how many assets exist now.
  • Platform dependency. The assets use capabilities "available in the Precisely Platform," which Precisely describes as in preview until early 2027. How AI Studio relates to the generally available products today is not spelled out.
  • Independent results. As of 12 October 2026, there is no outside review or customer deployment of AI Studio on record.
  • The weakest point. The argument that templates make AI trustworthy rests on data quality, yet the evidence offered is vendor testimony. Treat the time-to-value claim as unproven until a customer reports it.

Frequently asked questions

What is Precisely AI Studio?

Precisely AI Studio is a curated collection of ready-made apps, agents and skills for building AI solutions, announced by Precisely on 6 October 2026. The company says the assets help builders start from working examples on data made AI-ready with the Precisely Platform, such as data quality and enrichment. It is available immediately with a free trial.

Is Precisely AI Studio free?

There is a free trial, not a free product. Precisely says signing up at precisely.ai creates a workspace with 30 days of full access and a set of credit and transaction allowances. If those run out early, the trial ends. Production use requires contacting Sales, and no prices are published as of 12 October 2026.

Does Precisely AI Studio work with ChatGPT and Claude?

Precisely's press release says the assets work with AI tools including Claude, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT. The product page says downloaded agents and skills run in your own environment through a Precisely MCP connection and can be composed on whatever model or tooling you already use.

Is Precisely AI Studio a replacement for Databricks or Snowflake?

No. Databricks Agent Bricks and Snowflake Cortex Agents are platforms for building and running agents on data you store with them. Precisely AI Studio is a catalog of starting-point assets built around Precisely's data management and location data. It is closer to a template library that can sit beside those platforms than a substitute for them.

What does Snowflake charge for AI features?

As of 12 October 2026, Snowflake's documentation lists AI Credits at $2.00 each with global routing and $2.20 with regional routing, with no per-seat fees. Cortex Agents are billed in AI Credits per million tokens processed, and the rate depends on the orchestration model. Generated SQL adds warehouse compute.

Can you try Precisely AI Studio without uploading company data?

Yes. Precisely says AI Studio runs on sample data, so you do not need your own to start. Two apps, Data Graph Enrich and Data Quality Boost, let you upload data, but Precisely recommends not uploading sensitive or production data during the trial. Any data is removed when the trial ends.
